Announcement of closing all SUSHIRO stores in Japan for two days on May 14th (Tue) and 15th (Wed) – As part of efforts to create a more comfortable working environment

Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd. (Head office: Suita City, Osaka Prefecture; President: ; Kouhei Nii; hereinafter referred to as Sushiro), a subsidiary of FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES LTD. (Head office: Suita City, Osaka Prefecture; President & CEO: Koichi Mizutome; hereinafter referred to as F&LC), would like to inform you that all Sushiro stores in Japan will be closed for two days on May 14th (Tuesday) and 15th (Wednesday). This simultaneous closure has been implemented since 2019 as part of “creating a more comfortable working environment,” and will continue this year, the sixth year, in response to the positive response from employees, staff, and their families. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers, and we ask for your understanding. F&LC will continue to strive to “create a more comfortable working environment” for its employees.

Overview Closed: May 14th (Tue) and 15th (Wed)
Participating stores: All 639 Sushiro stores in Japan operated by Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd.
* 32 stores operated by KYOTARU CO., LTD., including “Sushiro To Go” and “Kyotaru-Sushiro” will be open.
* Sushiro Minoh Ishimaru store, Hita Tamagawa store, Toyohashi Isobe store, Marugame store, and Miki store will have different closure periods due to renovations.

■F&LC is working to create a more comfortable working environment
・Encouraging employees to take five-day holidays: We encourage employees to take two five-day holidays per year.
・Paid leave reserve system: This system allows employees to accumulate expiring paid leave, which can be used for caregiving, nursing children, physical injuries, etc.
・Supporting men to take parental leave: We hold parental leave interviews and share the experiences of those who have taken parental leave, and support men as well as women in taking parental leave.・Spouse maternity leave: When an employee’s spouse gives birth, they can take two days of special paid leave.
・Side job/multiple jobs system: They can work outside of their main job outside of working hours.
・Revised dress code: We respect diverse values and cultures, and allow employees to work in a dress code that is in line with the changing times. etc.
