Price Revisions and Review of Store Categories at SUSHIRO Japan

As announced on May 9, 2022, FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES LTD. (Headquarters: Suita City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director, President and CEO: Koichi Mizutome ; hereinafter referred to as F&LC) will revise prices and review some store classifications at all Sushiro stores operated by its subsidiary, Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd., starting October 1st.

For 38 years since its founding in 1984, Sushiro has followed its mission of “Fill your stomach with delicious sushi. Fill your heart with delicious sushi.” In order to be able to continue offering sushi for 100 yen per plate (excluding tax), the company has implemented various measures, including diversifying ingredients and improving efficiency through the use of IT in its stores.

On the other hand, the environment surrounding business companies, including ours in the food and beverage industry, has been changing rapidly and significantly more than ever before, with rising costs for procuring ingredients due to the weak yen and declining marine resources, logistics costs, land rents, labor costs, and equipment and construction materials. We feel that these changes in the environment have become even greater since the announcement in May.

In this environment, we believe that various changes are required in order to develop a sustainable business while valuing our customers, business partners and employees, and to provide even better services than before.

Sushiro is committed to continuing to provide our customers with “delicious sushi to fill your stomach. Delicious sushi to fill your heart.” In light of the current situation, we will revise our prices and reclassify our stores according to the store environment as follows, in order to continue providing Sushiro’s “It’s so delicious, and at this price!” experience that has been supported by our customers, without changing our mission since our founding, such as our commitment to flavor and quality.
